 Benesse Corporation announced that the board of directors resolved on April 25, 2003 to introduce Group Executive Officers and appoint the following three persons as Group Executive Officers as of the same day.


Description:
Benesse will appoint Group Executive Officers from among either those who play an important role of our company, in addition to managing any operating subsidiary within the appropriate area, or executive officers of our subsidiaries that cover core businesses of our group.

Group Executive Officers take responsibility for management of their subsidiary. In addition, they also make a commitment to the review and promotion of our entire group's management policy and strategy.

Group Executive Officers shall be treated in conformance with our Corporate Executive Officers. Contributions to the group management shall be added to our criteria for evaluation of them.

Purpose:
1. Enhancement of our group's centripetal force
2. Human resource development of our subsidiaries' management
3. Reinforcement of governance over our entire group

Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Berlitz Languages Services)
Takao Miyazawa
(Senior Executive Vice President of Telemarketing Japan, Inc.)
