 Benesse Corporation and CHUBU Electric Power Co., Inc. have reached an agreement to form an alliance in the senior citizen welfare business. The two companies have decided to jointly develop "Benesse Home Clara" nursing-care group homes for senior citizens in Japan's Tokai region, taking advantage of their respective fields of expertise. The first nursing home, to be provisionally called the Benesse Home Clara CHUDEN Kakuozan, in Nagoya-shi in March 2002.

Every resident has their own room so they can go about their day-to-day activities in privacy. At the same time, residents are encouraged to socialize with each other and participate in small group activities to ensure a rewarding, yet independent lifestyle.
2. Support and care provided according to individual needs.
Care programs are tailored to meet the individual care plan of each resident in consultation with families. Regular reports are given to the families of residents.
3. The facility serves as a second home for residents and their families alike.
Residents have complete freedom to arrange their schedules and lifestyles exactly as they would in their own home. Also, homes will be established in convenient locations that make it easy for family and friends to come and visit.
