Benesse, CHUBU Electric to Form Alliance in Elderly Nursing Home Business

Benesse Corporation and CHUBU Electric Power Co., Inc. have reached an agreement to form an alliance in the senior citizen welfare business. The two companies have decided to jointly develop "Benesse Home Clara" nursing-care group homes for senior citizens in Japan's Tokai region, taking advantage of their respective fields of expertise. The first nursing home, to be provisionally called the Benesse Home Clara CHUDEN Kakuozan, in Nagoya-shi in March 2002.
