Benesse has been included for a sixth consecutive year as a component in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI World), one of the world's best-known socially responsible investment (SRI)* indexes.

DJSI evaluates sustainability across three broad dimensions—Economic, Environment and Social—assessing a wide range of criteria including inherent aspects of each industry and company to select outstanding companies. The components are reviewed every September. Out of 2,500 major international companies considered for inclusion, Benesse was one of the 318 companies (30 of them Japanese) that made the cut.
*SRI Fund: A socially responsible investment index that emphasizes the social, ethical and environmental aspects of a company (such as legal compliance, human resource issues, human rights, consumer responsiveness, and contributions to society and communities) alongside its finances.
