"TheSustainabilityYearbook2009"is theworld’s most comprehensive publication on corporate sustainability and the related challenges and opportunities for companies.

The 2500 largest companies in the world, as reflected in the Dow Jones Global Index, are invited each year to participate in SAM’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment. Only the top-scoring 15% of those companies in each of the 57 sectors assessed by SAM are included in the Sustainability Yearbook.
The best companies from each sector qualify as a“SAM Sector Leader”. And, in a new development, the best companies are broken down into three categories: SAM Gold Class, SAM Silver Class and SAM Bronze Class. In addition, those firms from each sector that have shown the greatest relative improvement in their sustainability performance are given the title of“SAM Sector Mover”.
